As part of its ongoing commitment to the environment through land stewardship and residential development in keeping with the local topography and community, Homestead Preserve offers a wide array of green building options for homeowners, including the opportunity to participate in the EarthCraft Virginia program.  EarthCraft Virginia is a formal green building certification program designed to promote the construction of homes that use less energy, make use of sustainable building materials, and provide a healthy living environment for residents. 

Homestead Preserve is the first community in the Alleghany Highlands to certify a home under the EarthCraft program.

EarthCraft isn’t the only way to a green home at Homestead Preserve, however.  Our architects and builders are happy to guide you through the basics of building a more sustainable and energy efficient home.
